Have you been cursing the wind or hate how hot it is right now?
Do you hiss and frequently complain to the people about the scorching sun?
The next time you feel the urge to malign the wind, remember, Allah controls the wind and you are cursing something that Allah controls.
What’s wrong with that?
The wind does not blow hot air, remain still, harm or benefit except by Allah’s Command therefore vilifying it amounts to vilifying Him Who sent it and this conflicts with correct tauheed.
In a hadith, Allah’s Messenger ﷺ said:
“Do not malign the wind; if you see that which displeases you, say:
“Oh, Allah ! We ask of You the good of this wind and the good that it is commanded to bring with it;
And we seek refuge with You from the evil of this wind and the evil that it is commanded to bring with it.”
This hadith contains a very important DUA.
It is important to supplicate to Allah in these moments so you do not become weak and fail to perform the obligatory deeds such as Salât with necessary diligence.
Islam has ordered us to be of good speech and Allah made the wind this way to see what you would do.
May Allah help us utter only that which pleases him. Ameen
